Knicks Rally Around OG Anunoby After All-Defensive First Team Snub

NEW YORK — New York Knicks players spoke out on May 24, 2026, after forward OG Anunoby was left off the NBA’s All-Defensive First Team, calling the decision “wrong” and insisting he was “robbed” of the honor.

Several teammates publicly defended Anunoby, emphasizing his on-ball pressure, versatility and impact on the league’s fourth-ranked defense. They argued his nightly assignments against elite scorers and consistent statistical production warranted first-team recognition.

The NBA announced its All-Defensive teams earlier this week; Anunoby did not appear on the five-player First Team list.

Knicks players said the omission would serve as further motivation as the club pushes toward its postseason goals.
