The Atlanta Hawks are promoting general manager Onsi Saleh to team president and have reached agreement on a multiyear contract extension, according to sources familiar with the decision.
Saleh, who has overseen the club’s basketball operations as general manager, will now carry the title of president of basketball operations while continuing to run the front office, the sources said. Financial terms and the exact length of the new deal were not disclosed.
The promotion positions Saleh to steer the franchise’s roster construction and strategic planning in the coming seasons.
