Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid said the officiating crew showed bias toward New York during Game 3 of the teams’ playoff series on May 9, 2026.
“I guess it’s good when New York wins,” Embiid told reporters post-game, suggesting that key calls consistently went in the Knicks’ favor as the 76ers’ postseason hopes continued to dim.
The reigning MVP did not specify individual plays but maintained that the whistle hurt Philadelphia’s chances throughout the night. The loss put the 76ers in a precarious position heading into Game 4.
Neither the NBA nor the game’s officiating crew had issued a response to Embiid’s comments at press time.
