The online pushback came soon after Sunday’s opening game of the playoff series, which ended with the Cavaliers falling to the Knicks. Fans and commentators accused Schroder of poor timing, arguing that sharing a celebratory image so soon after the defeat showed a lack of awareness.
Although the post was quickly deleted, screenshots circulated widely, fueling further discussion about athletes’ use of social media moments after high-stakes contests.
The Cavaliers will attempt to regroup before Game 2 as the series continues.
