The Boston Celtics have reached an agreement on a three-year, $15 million contract extension with forward Jordan Walsh, according to league sources familiar with the negotiations.
The deal, which cannot become official until the league’s transaction moratorium is lifted, will keep the 20-year-old with Boston through the 2028-29 season. Walsh was selected 38th overall in the 2023 draft and appeared in limited minutes as a rookie while spending time with the organization’s G League affiliate in Maine.
Boston views Walsh as a long-term depth piece on the wing, sources said. Locking him in at a modest annual salary gives the Celtics additional roster flexibility as they navigate a tightening salary cap around their veteran core.
Walsh averaged 3.1 points and 1.8 rebounds in 32 regular-season appearances last year and impressed team officials with his defensive energy during practice and summer-league play.
The Celtics have not commented publicly on the agreement.
