PHILADELPHIA — Cleveland guards Darius Garland and Sam Merrill left Wednesday night’s 133-107 victory against the Philadelphia 76ers with injuries and are unlikely to play when the teams meet again Friday.

Garland exited midway through the third quarter after his pocket was picked. The two-time All-Star stayed on the floor for several moments, limped to the bench, then walked to the locker room with a towel over his head. The Cavaliers later ruled him out with a right foot injury.

The 25-year-old has battled turf toe on his left foot since last season, an issue that required surgery and delayed the start of his 2025-26 campaign. He entered the night averaging 17.9 points and 6.9 assists in 25 games, and had posted 20 points and seven assists in 23 minutes before leaving.

Merrill departed in the first half after injuring his right hand, the same hand that sidelined him for a month earlier this season. Head coach Kenny Atkinson said both Garland and Merrill are “doubtful” for Friday’s rematch in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia also lost a starter when power forward Dominick Barlow suffered a hard fall in the third quarter and was ruled out with a back bruise.
