CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Freshman forward Caleb Wilson is turning pro after a single season at the University of North Carolina, the program confirmed Monday through a video statement released by the 6-foot-10 prospect.

Wilson called his time in Chapel Hill “the most fun year of my life,” thanking the Tar Heels community for the opportunity to wear No. 8 and compete in historic Carmichael Arena. The announcement follows a late-March social-media post that hinted at his one-and-done decision.

The Atlanta native averaged 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds before injuries sidelined him. He fractured a bone in his left hand just days after a dramatic win over Duke, then broke his right thumb during a non-contact drill as he prepared to return, ending his season before the second matchup with the Blue Devils.

Despite the abbreviated campaign, Wilson earned second-team Associated Press All-America honors, ensuring his jersey will be recognized in the Smith Center rafters. ESPN’s latest mock draft projects him as the No. 4 pick in June’s star-studded 2026 class.
