The last rookie-scale extensions permitted before Monday’s league deadline were completed without any unexpected twists, locking in long-term deals for three 2020 first-round picks.
Christian Braun secured a five-year, $125 million agreement with the Denver Nuggets, while Dyson Daniels reached a four-year, $100 million pact with the Atlanta Hawks. Shaedon Sharpe finalized a four-year, $90 million extension with the Portland Trail Blazers.
According to contract details obtained by Hoops Rumors, every dollar in the three deals is fully guaranteed. None of the agreements include player or team options, trade kickers, or partial guarantees.
Braun’s and Sharpe’s contracts feature the standard 8 percent annual raises allowed under the collective bargaining agreement. Daniels’ salary is set at a flat $25 million each season, mirroring the structure Atlanta used last year in Jalen Johnson’s five-year, $150 million extension.
Additional contract notes
• Keaton Wallace signed a one-year minimum deal with the Hawks that is partially guaranteed for $318,217. If Wallace remains on the roster beyond Jan. 7, the contract becomes fully guaranteed at $2.3 million.
• The Trail Blazers converted Javonte Cooke to a two-way contract after waiving and re-signing him out of an Exhibit 10 deal, giving Portland two years of two-way control.
• Aaron Nesmith’s extension with the Indiana Pacers is worth $40.4 million over two years and includes a 7.5 percent trade kicker.
