The Chicago Bulls have reached an agreement with free-agent guard Mac McClung, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. The move was reported on October 17, 2025, at 1:59 p.m. CST.
McClung, 26, gained widespread attention by winning each of the NBA’s last three Slam Dunk Contests. Despite that visibility, his regular-season NBA experience remains limited: six appearances for four different teams between 2021 and 2025. He spent the entire 2024-25 campaign on a two-way contract with the Orlando Magic but logged only 10 minutes across two games.
The 6-foot-2 guard has been highly productive in the G League. He was named league MVP in 2023-24 and earned a spot on the All-NBAGL First Team in 2024-25. Playing 44 games for the Osceola Magic last season, McClung averaged 23.0 points, 5.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 32.4 minutes, shooting 48.1% from the field, 34.4% from three-point range and 82.8% from the foul line.
Chicago currently has 15 players on guaranteed contracts and three on two-way deals, leaving no clear opening on the standard roster. If McClung is intended for the team’s G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls would first need to acquire his returning rights from Osceola.
The agreement is expected to be an Exhibit 10 contract. Such a deal would allow McClung to earn a bonus of up to $85,300 if he spends at least 60 days with Windy City.
