Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom has permanently honored the late Kobe Bryant by tattooing the five-time NBA champion’s face on the left side of his neck.
Odom revealed the artwork while guesting on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast with host Shannon Sharpe. During the episode, released on Oct. 10, 2025, the two-time Lakers champion turned his head to display the detailed portrait. Odom said the ink symbolizes the profound influence Bryant had on his life both on and off the court.
“That’s the ultimate sign of respect,” Sharpe remarked after seeing the tattoo, noting that placing another man’s likeness—other than a close relative—on one’s body is rare.
Bond Forged in Championship Years
Odom, an elite playmaker at 6-foot-10, joined the Lakers in 2004 and flourished alongside Bryant. The duo helped lead Los Angeles to back-to-back NBA titles in 2009 and 2010, and Odom earned NBA Sixth Man of the Year honors in 2011. Over the years, Odom has frequently credited Bryant for motivating him through personal struggles and guiding him during difficult chapters of his life.
