The offseason shuffle continues around the league, with Chicago adding a perimeter stopper, Golden State reuniting the Curry brothers and Miami securing another proven scorer.

Bulls Count on Isaac Okoro’s Defense

Newly acquired wing Isaac Okoro said he is coming to the Chicago Bulls prepared to sacrifice offense in favor of defense. “Everyone in this league wants to score 20 … but people have to make sacrifices,” Okoro told the Chicago Sun-Times. The 23-year-old, obtained in the Lonzo Ball trade, expects to take on the nightly assignment of guarding the opponent’s top scorer after filling that role with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Warriors Add Seth Curry on One-Year Deal

The Golden State Warriors reached a one-year agreement with veteran shooter Seth Curry, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported. Contract terms were not released, though league sources anticipate a non-guaranteed Exhibit 9 arrangement designed to keep the Warriors below the second apron while allowing the club to waive and potentially re-sign Curry on a prorated minimum if necessary.

Curry, 35, has logged stints with nine NBA teams and hit 45.6% of his three-point attempts last season in 68 games (14 starts) for the Charlotte Hornets. He owns a career 43.3% mark from beyond the arc.

Norman Powell Seeks First All-Star Nod with Heat

Norman Powell joined the Miami Heat after averaging 17.0 points on 48.6% shooting — including 43.5% from three — in 75 games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season. The 31-year-old told Andscape he carried a “chip” all summer after missing the 2024 All-Star Game and is determined to make the showcase, particularly with the 2025 event set for Los Angeles at Intuit Dome.

Miamis front office believes Powell’s scoring punch will bolster a roster aiming to climb back into contention in the Eastern Conference.
