Chicago Bulls guard Coby White is dismissing preseason projections that place the team near the bottom of the Eastern Conference, telling Marc J. Spears of Andscape that Chicago “has a chance to be really good” in the 2025-26 campaign.

White, 25, said his personal target is to reach All-Star status after back-to-back seasons averaging roughly 20 points per game. “I want to win and I want to become that All-Star-caliber player,” he explained. “The next part is for us to take that leap as a team, get out of this play-in stage and win.”

The guard is entering the final year of his contract and is set to earn $12.9 million. According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, White has informed the Bulls he will not sign an extension before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2026, citing NBA limits on veteran-extension starting salaries.

Cowley floated a potential trade with the Houston Rockets—built around Reed Sheppard and Tari Eason—after Rockets guard Fred VanVleet suffered an ACL tear. White, however, sounded committed to Chicago. “I love being in Chicago. I love the front office, my teammates, the staff,” he said, adding that he has built a strong relationship with head coach Billy Donovan. “If it’s meant to be for me to stay a Chicago Bull, then I can’t ask for anything else.”
