Los Angeles Lakers center Jaxson Hayes has agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract with the Utah Jazz, according to multiple reports on Monday.

The deal cannot become official until the NBA’s free-agency moratorium ends later this month, but the agreement positions the 7-footer to move to Salt Lake City after spending last season with the Lakers.

Hayes, selected eighth overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, appeared in 70 regular-season games for Los Angeles in 2025-26. Details of any team or player options in the new contract were not disclosed.

The Jazz finished the 2025-26 campaign just outside the Western Conference playoff picture and are expected to continue retooling their frontcourt in the offseason.
