Lakers weigh two–way deal for Summer League standout Arthur Kaluma

The Los Angeles Lakers are evaluating whether to offer forward Arthur Kaluma a two-way contract after his impressive performance at the 2026 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, according to Dan Woike of The Athletic.
Kaluma, 6-foot-7, averaged 18.6 points while shooting 60.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range. His breakout included a 34-point outing against the Dallas Mavericks that featured six made threes.
The former Creighton product spent last season with the South Bay Lakers, appearing in 34 G League games and posting 14.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists on 54.5 percent shooting and 36.4 percent from deep.
Los Angeles currently has all three two-way roster spots filled by Chris Mañon, AK Okereke and Peter Suder. Signing Kaluma would require waiving one of those players; Suder appears most vulnerable after a difficult Summer League showing and a DNP in the finale against the Golden State Warriors.
While the club explores this move on the margins, momentum toward a separate deal with free-agent wing Jonathan Kuminga has reportedly stalled, with the two sides still far apart on contract terms.
