The New Orleans Pelicans have re-signed veteran center DeAndre Jordan to a two-year, fully guaranteed agreement worth approximately $7.9 million, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.

The deal, reported Tuesday, is a minimum-salary contract but covers two seasons, placing a $3.88 million cap hit on the Pelicans’ books for 2026-27 and $4.07 million for 2027-28. League reimbursement rules that reduce the cap impact of one-year veteran minimums do not apply to multiyear pacts.

Jordan, who turns 38 later this month, had been working on one-year minimum contracts for the past five seasons. In 2025-26, his first season with New Orleans, the 6’11” center appeared in a career-low 12 games, averaging 4.4 points and 6.3 rebounds in 16.6 minutes.

Despite limited on-court production, the former second-round pick drew praise for his locker-room presence and mentorship of young teammates, including Derik Queen and Zion Williamson. He was voted the NBA’s 2025-26 Teammate of the Year in April.

The new contract positions Jordan to reach his stated goal of playing 20 NBA seasons. The 2026-27 campaign will be his 19th, and the second year of the deal would mark season No. 20.

Jordan leads the league’s all-time field-goal percentage list at .673, owns three All-NBA selections, two spots on All-Defensive teams, two rebounding titles and one All-Star appearance. He captured an NBA championship with Denver in 2023.
