The Milwaukee Bucks have brought back forward Pete Nance on a new two-year agreement just days after waiving him, the team announced Monday.

League sources confirmed that the deal is non-guaranteed at the veteran minimum and contains a team option for the 2027-28 season. Nance’s $2.5 million salary for 2026-27 will become fully guaranteed if he remains on the roster when the regular season begins. As part of the contract, the 6-foot-9 forward also waived his right to veto a trade.

Milwaukee released Nance last week to avoid guaranteeing the same $2.5 million figure under his previous minimum-salary contract. The Bucks had until the weekend to make a decision on that guarantee.

Nance entered the league undrafted out of North Carolina in 2023. He split time between the Cavaliers and the 76ers on two-way deals before signing a two-year two-way contract with the Bucks in February 2025. Milwaukee converted that agreement to a standard multiyear deal in March.

During the 2025-26 season, Nance appeared in 47 games for the Bucks, averaging 5.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assist across 15.7 minutes per contest while shooting 51.5 percent from the floor and 42.0 percent from three-point range.

The Bucks already have 15 players projected for their regular-season roster, meaning a trade or waiver would be required to create space for Nance before opening night.
