The New York Knicks expect Jalen Brunson to be available when the 2025-26 season tips off, despite the point guard’s recent procedure on his left wrist, hand and forearm.
Brunson underwent surgery earlier this month after playing through the injury during the Knicks’ title run. Recovery is projected to last about two months, and ESPN’s Shams Charania reported the Finals MVP should resume basketball activities later this summer.
Dallas Targets European Sharpshooter
The Dallas Mavericks are moving to sign 25-year-old wing Tarik Biberovic, one of Europe’s most accurate perimeter shooters. Marc Stein of The Stein Line reported the Turkish League standout will leave Fenerbahce for a two-year, $6 million contract that includes a team option in the second season.
Dallas acquired Biberovic’s draft rights in the 2021 trade that sent Santi Aldama to Memphis. Last season he hit nearly 42 percent of his three-point attempts while helping Fenerbahce win the 2025 EuroLeague championship. A buyout with his current club remains the final hurdle, with the player expected to cover part of the fee.
Golden State Prioritizes Fit
The Golden State Warriors considered runs at forward Rui Hachimura and guard Anfernee Simons before deciding both price tags were too steep, according to ESPN’s Anthony Slater. Instead, the franchise elected to re-sign DeAnthony Melton, believing his defensive versatility and ability to fill multiple backcourt roles complement the current roster better than Simons would have.
Golden State explored Hachimura before the forward joined the Los Angeles Clippers and weighed an offer for Simons prior to his move to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Training camps open in early autumn, when the effectiveness of these offseason decisions will begin to crystallize.
