NBA front-office personnel increasingly suspect LeBron James may return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said during an appearance on ESPN Cleveland.
“I’ve talked to people in Philly, and they’re saying, ‘We’re afraid it’s Cleveland,’” Windhorst noted, adding that multiple executives around the league share the same concern.
James, a 22-time All-Star, has not announced his decision after opting to leave the Los Angeles Lakers. The Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers have all been linked to the 39-year-old forward.
Agent Rich Paul recently discussed several of those teams on the “Game Over” podcast, underscoring that the four-time NBA champion is still evaluating his options.
While no agreement is in place, national reporter Marc Stein wrote over the weekend that belief in a possible Cleveland reunion is “growing” around the league. Multiple reports also indicate the Cavaliers have slowed additional roster moves while awaiting James’s choice.
The timeline for a decision remains unclear, leaving rival front offices on edge as speculation around Cleveland persists.
