The Los Angeles Lakers opened their Summer League campaign with a lopsided 104-72 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Friday night at Chase Center in San Francisco.

Golden State’s early three-point barrage set the tone. First-round pick Yaxel Lendeborg knocked down his first three attempts from long range and fellow rookie Will Richard also hit his first four triples, propelling the Warriors to a 28-23 edge after one quarter. By halftime, the Lakers trailed 57-33.

Los Angeles struggled to generate offense beyond rookie guard Cameron Carr, who finished with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including 5-of-11 from deep. The rest of the roster shot poorly and showed a clear lack of playmaking, while defensive rotations failed to slow Golden State’s perimeter attack.

The pattern continued after intermission. Even a 9-0 Lakers run early in the fourth quarter barely dented the deficit, and the Warriors cruised to the final horn.
