Milwaukee, WI — The Milwaukee Bucks have waived forward Pete Nance, according to the NBA’s official transaction log. The organization has not yet issued a formal statement on the move.

Nance, 6’9”, entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina in 2023. He split his rookie campaign between the Cleveland Cavaliers and a two-way stint with the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2024/25 season. Milwaukee signed him to a two-year two-way contract in February 2025 after Philadelphia let him go.

The forward appeared in 47 games for the Bucks in 2025/26, averaging 5.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assist across 15.7 minutes per contest. He shot 51.5% from the field and 42.0% from beyond the arc, while converting 4 of 11 free-throw attempts (36.4%) over 737 total minutes.

Milwaukee converted Nance’s deal to a standard multiyear contract in March, but his $2.5 million salary for the 2026/27 season was fully non-guaranteed until Saturday. By cutting ties now, the Bucks avoid any financial obligation for that year.

Nance was listed on the team’s Summer League roster earlier this week, suggesting Milwaukee could explore bringing him back on different terms. He remains eligible for one more season on a two-way contract.
