The Washington Wizards have waived guard/forward Leaky Black, according to a report from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
The move was made on July 1, 2026, clearing the 27-year-old from the roster and positioning him to enter unrestricted free agency.
Brief stint in Washington
Black joined the Wizards last season on a multi-year two-way contract after spending his rookie year with the Charlotte Hornets. He appeared in 12 games for Washington, averaging 7.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 28.9 minutes. His shooting splits stood at .388 from the field, .345 from three-point range and .875 from the free-throw line. Most of his playing time came late in the season as the Wizards moved toward the bottom of the standings.
Next steps
The 6-foot-6 wing now becomes a free agent after two NBA seasons, free to negotiate with any team ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
