The Golden State Warriors are bringing in undrafted rookie guard Nick Boyd on an Exhibit 10 contract, the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball program announced Thursday.
Draft analyst Jon Chepkevich later confirmed the contract terms, indicating Boyd will join Golden State on a one-year, minimum-salary deal that can be converted to a two-way contract or carry a bonus if he lands with the club’s G League affiliate in Santa Cruz.
Boyd, 25, spent six seasons in college after receiving two extra years of NCAA eligibility because of COVID-19 and a redshirt year. The 6-1 guard played for Florida Atlantic and San Diego State before finishing his career at Wisconsin.
In 2025-26, Boyd averaged 20.7 points, 4.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.0 steal across 31.9 minutes while shooting 48.0 percent from the field, 36.5 percent from three-point range and 83.0 percent at the foul line.
He entered the draft ranked No. 53 on Sam Vecenie’s final big board for The Athletic and No. 65 on the corresponding list by ESPN’s Jeremy Woo but was not selected on draft night.
It remains unclear whether the Warriors will give Boyd a chance to compete for one of their two-way slots. If he is waived and subsequently spends at least 60 days with Santa Cruz, the Exhibit 10 agreement allows him to earn a bonus of up to $91,000.
