Oklahoma City — The Oklahoma City Thunder have reached an agreement on a new three-year contract to keep center Isaiah Hartenstein with the team, according to league sources familiar with the negotiations.

Specific financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal secures the 7-footer’s place on the Thunder roster through the 2028-29 NBA season.

Hartenstein, 26, averaged 7.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 75 games last season. The German-American big man joined Oklahoma City as a free agent in 2023 after two years with the New York Knicks.

Oklahoma City finished last season 57-25, earning the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference before falling in the second round of the playoffs. Retaining Hartenstein addresses one of the club’s top offseason priorities: maintaining frontcourt depth alongside rising star Chet Holmgren.

The Thunder can finalize the contract after the league’s free-agency moratorium ends next week.
