Nets

Brooklyn has joined the chase for free-agent center Mitchell Robinson, league sources told reporters Marc Stein and Jake Fischer. The Nets created room in the middle after sending starting center Nic Claxton to Chicago and still possess significant cap flexibility despite their recent acquisition of forward Julius Randle.

Front-office officials are intent on fielding a competitive roster next season, viewing the 26-year-old Robinson as a fit alongside young big man DayRon Sharpe. The Lakers are also believed to have interest, and a return to the Knicks has not been ruled out. New York, however, is trying to stay under the second tax apron, a hurdle that could complicate re-signing the veteran shot-blocker.

Pistons

Detroit reached an agreement to acquire guard Isaiah Joe from Oklahoma City in exchange for two future second-round picks, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. Joe, 24, has ranked among the NBA’s most accurate long-range shooters, hitting at least 40.9 percent of his three-pointers in each of the past four seasons. He averaged 11.1 points across 71 games last year while converting 42.3 percent from deep.

The Pistons have been searching for additional spacing around guard Cade Cunningham and value the playoff experience Joe gained over four seasons with the Thunder. His contract will pay $11.3 million next season and includes a team option for 2027-28.

Oklahoma City continues to shed salary after also agreeing to send Aaron Wiggins to Atlanta, cost-saving moves that could help the Thunder avoid the luxury-tax line.

Heat

Miami declined its $2.4 million team option on guard Jahmir Young, making the 25-year-old an unrestricted free agent, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Despite the decision, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported that the Heat may try to bring Young back on a two-way contract or a non-guaranteed deal.

Young appeared in 14 NBA contests last season but starred for the G League’s Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 26.0 points and 8.9 assists while earning All-NBA G League Second Team honors. Miami, which recently completed a blockbuster deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo, is expected to use its roster flexibility to pursue additional veteran help.
