The Cleveland Cavaliers have no plans to entertain trade offers for All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell, according to league sources cited in several recent reports.
Team officials remain committed to Mitchell and the club’s veteran nucleus as they head into the NBA Draft and the start of free agency, sources told Hoops Wire. Despite the annual wave of offseason speculation, executives around the league largely expect Cleveland to keep its leading scorer.
Sean Deveney of Heavy Sports reported that the front office believes it can “run it back” with its primary quartet of Mitchell, James Harden, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. That core helped the Cavaliers reach the Eastern Conference Finals this year for the first time since 2018 before losing to the New York Knicks.
President of basketball operations Koby Altman has publicly expressed confidence in the roster, and Mitchell remains central to those plans. Although rival teams continue monitoring Cleveland’s cap situation, sources say the Cavaliers are focused on smaller roster tweaks rather than any move involving their marquee star.
