New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson has suffered a broken pinky finger, placing his availability for the upcoming NBA Finals in question.

The injury was reported on May 28, 2026, heightening concern inside the organization as the Knicks prepare for their first Finals appearance since 1999. No timetable for Robinson’s recovery was immediately disclosed.

Robinson has been a key defensive anchor for New York throughout the postseason, averaging double-digit rebounds and providing shot-blocking presence in the paint. Losing the 7-footer would force head coach Tom Thibodeau to rely more heavily on backup centers and small-ball lineups against the Western Conference champion.

The Knicks have not announced whether Robinson will undergo surgery or attempt to play through the injury with protective taping. Team officials said further medical evaluations are underway.
