The NBA announced its 2025-26 Coach of the Year results on Wednesday, and Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick finished in seventh place.
Redick, hired by the Lakers before the start of the current season, collected enough votes from a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters to land just outside the top six. The league released the full ballot totals on May 27, 2026.
The award recognizes regular-season coaching performance; ballots are cast at the end of the schedule but before the playoffs begin. Redick’s placement reflects the voting panel’s view of his inaugural campaign with Los Angeles.
