Los Angeles, CA — Superstar guard Luka Doncic reiterated his satisfaction with the Los Angeles Lakers, saying he “feels very comfortable” with the franchise as the 2025-26 NBA season comes to a close.
“I like living here, I like playing for the Lakers,” Doncic said during his end-of-season media availability. “It’s the best organization in the world. Just being a Laker means a lot to me. I feel very good here.”
The Lakers acquired the 27-year-old from the Dallas Mavericks in a blockbuster deal that stunned the league. Since the trade, team executives have emphasized making the four-time All-NBA selection feel at home in Los Angeles and have maintained constant communication about roster moves.
According to team sources, the front office is focused on surrounding Doncic with talent capable of contending for a championship. A top priority this summer is re-signing guard Austin Reaves, who will enter free agency. Doncic and Reaves forged a close on-court partnership and friendship during the season, and the Slovenian star has let management know he wants Reaves to remain a Laker.
Reaves is expected to draw interest from several clubs once free agency opens, putting added pressure on Los Angeles to secure a new deal. The upcoming offseason is considered pivotal for the Lakers as they work to keep their franchise cornerstone content and build a roster that can compete for a title.
