Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges has petitioned a Los Angeles court for a psychological evaluation of his former partner, Mychelle Johnson, according to court documents cited by TMZ.
The filing alleges that Johnson, with whom Bridges shares four young children, has displayed “erratic behavior” in recent months and has become fixated on the NBA player’s current relationship. The pair have been operating under a temporary custody and support agreement since 2023.
Bridges contends that Johnson has repeatedly contacted him during late-night and early-morning hours with emotionally charged messages and has threatened to release private information about him. Johnson denies making any threats, TMZ reported.
Restraining order issued earlier this month
The request for a mental health evaluation follows a judge’s decision earlier in May to grant Bridges a temporary restraining order. That order prohibits Johnson from contacting or harassing Bridges or his girlfriend and bars any alleged cyberstalking.
Additional claims in Bridges’ filings state that Johnson showed up at a Hornets home game and attempted to tamper with his vehicle. Those accusations have not been independently verified, and Johnson has not publicly responded to the latest court action.
Background and player profile
Bridges, 28, is in his eighth NBA season and averaged 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists for Charlotte this year. In 2022 he pleaded no contest to a felony domestic violence charge involving Johnson and was sentenced to three years of probation.
