The Chicago Bulls vaulted from the ninth slot to No. 4 in Tuesday’s NBA Draft Lottery, giving newly appointed head of basketball operations Bryson Graham a significant early asset.
“It’s exciting, man. I can’t believe it. I just got the job and I got the fourth pick. It’s crazy,” Graham told reporters, according to The Athletic.
The jump places Chicago in range to select a top prospect such as Caleb Wilson or Cameron Boozer. While Graham welcomed the opportunity, he cautioned that one draft choice will not solve every issue the franchise faces.
“Let’s not sit here and say because we have the fourth pick and all of a sudden this franchise is back,” he said. “This is a good opportunity to add high-level talent to our group and build this.”
Graham emphasized a deliberate approach. “We’re going to do this the right way and layer it appropriately,” he added.
The Bulls, searching for a clear path forward after missing the playoffs, view the lottery jump as a starting point rather than a finish line.
