Members of the 2026 NBA draft class are already talking up their potential long before any names are called. Asked about the incoming group, NCAA scoring leader AJ Dybantsa said, “I’m going to say we’re one of the best draft classes. We’ll see how that pans out, but if you ask me right now, I think we’re one of the best.”

Dybantsa’s confidence is shared by fellow top-four prospects Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson. Boozer, the reigning NCAA Player of the Year, told reporters, “If a team wants to hang a championship banner, I’m definitely their guy.” Wilson, recovering from surgery on his right thumb, confirmed he will be ready for NBA Summer League in July.

Early Combine Measurements

Prospects underwent anthropometric testing at Monday’s draft combine. Final figures are expected Tuesday, but preliminary standouts include:

  • Aday Mara, Michigan — 7’3”, 260 lbs., 7’6” wingspan, 9’9” standing reach (tied for second-longest in combine history).
  • Jayden Quaintance and Chris Cenac also rated as measurement winners.
  • Christian Anderson and Amari Allen were among those whose numbers hurt their stock.

Tennessee forward Nate Ament measured 6’9.5”, 211 lbs., with a 6’11.5” wingspan and a 9’1.5” standing reach. Ament told Andscape’s Marc J. Spears a physician believes he could still grow another two inches.

Kings Eye a Point Guard at No. 7

With the seventh overall pick secured, Sacramento head coach Doug Christie labeled point guard as the club’s top offseason need. The Sacramento Bee listed five potential targets at that slot, including Darius Acuff, Keaton Wagler and Kingston Flemings.

Inside the lottery drawing room, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst provided additional behind-the-scenes observations on the process that set the final draft order.

The 2026 NBA draft is scheduled for June, with the first rookie contracts expected to be finalized in early July.
