Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton said at his Simple Truth Basketball ProCamp that he anticipates being fully cleared for the start of the 2026-27 campaign after missing the entire 2025-26 season with a torn Achilles tendon.

“I feel like I’m operating like I’m a healthy NBA player for the first time in a long time, which is exciting,” Haliburton told reporters. “The fact that I’m able to come here without having to answer questions from anybody in our organization about my health … that means the world to me.”

The 26-year-old suffered the injury in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, where he had averaged 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists during Indiana’s unexpected run to a seven-game series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Haliburton had delivered several late-game shots that helped the Pacers reach their first Finals appearance since 2000.

Without their All-Star floor general this past season, the Pacers fell to 19-63, the league’s second-worst record. Their first-round pick was already committed to the Los Angeles Clippers, though the same trade brought in center Ivica Zubac, who is expected to reinforce the frontcourt when Haliburton returns.

Since arriving from Sacramento in a 2022 trade, Haliburton has earned back-to-back All-NBA Third Team selections in his two healthy seasons and led the league with 10.9 assists per game in 2023-24.

Haliburton also confirmed he has completely recovered from a case of shingles that sidelined him briefly in April. “I look back at videos of me and I can see how swollen my face is,” he said. “I’m glad that’s behind me now. I feel great. My body feels great. I’m able to do everything.”
