The Los Angeles Lakers could enter Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Oklahoma City Thunder with an even thinner rotation. On Wednesday, the club added guard Luke Kennard to the injury report as questionable because of neck soreness, while forward Jarred Vanderbilt was downgraded to doubtful after dislocating the pinkie finger on his right hand in Game 1.

Kennard’s appearance on the report is his first of the postseason. The 29-year-old shot 1-for-4 in Monday’s series opener, which the Lakers lost at Crypto.com Arena. His availability will be determined closer to Thursday night’s tip-off.

Vanderbilt lasted just six minutes in Game 1 before suffering a full dislocation that broke the skin on his shooting hand. The 27-year-old had the finger reset and is now wearing a splint. Head coach JJ Redick said Vanderbilt is considered day-to-day but must demonstrate sufficient pain tolerance and tissue healing before returning, as medical staff want to prevent another bone breakthrough.

Luka Doncic remains sidelined

Los Angeles continues to be without Luka Doncic, who is recovering from a Grade 2 strain of his left hamstring. The guard told reporters he was given an eight-week timetable when an MRI confirmed the injury; Thursday will mark five weeks since the setback. Doncic has resumed running but has not been cleared for full-contact work, making a potential return more realistic only if the Lakers advance to the Western Conference Finals.
