University of Tennessee forward Nate Ament, widely projected as a lottery pick, announced on Instagram that he will enter the 2026 NBA Draft, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
The 6’10” sophomore posted averages of 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists this season while earning All-SEC honors. Although regarded as a skilled shot-maker, he finished the year at 39.9% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc.
Ament’s most productive stretch came during a 10-game run between January and mid-February, when he put up 23.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest and converted 38.1% of his 4.2 three-point attempts per game.
Jeremy Woo of ESPN slots Ament at No. 9 in his latest mock draft and No. 8 on his big board, noting that the forward’s blend of size, fluidity and skill may take time to translate into winning contributions. Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman places him 13th, citing the contrast between his three-level scoring upside and questions about his explosiveness and strength.
NCAA underclassmen who are not automatically eligible have until the end of Friday to file as early entrants for the 2026 draft.
