Toronto guard Immanuel Quickley will miss Game 1 of the Raptors’ first-round playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers this afternoon, head coach Darko Rajaković confirmed to reporters on Sunday.
Quickley had been listed as questionable with a strained right hamstring suffered during the regular-season finale against Brooklyn on April 12. The 25-year-old is also managing right foot plantar fasciitis.
“Just day-to-day, trying to take care of myself so I can be back on the floor with my teammates,” Quickley said earlier this week when asked about his recovery.
The fourth-year guard averaged 16.4 points, 5.9 assists and 4.0 rebounds during the regular season, and posted 13.3 points and 6.3 assists in three matchups with Cleveland.
With Quickley sidelined, backcourt reserves Jamal Shead and JaKobe Walter are expected to shoulder additional minutes against the Cavaliers’ high-scoring duo of Donovan Mitchell and James Harden. Rajaković did not reveal which player will join the starting lineup.
