April — Four college standouts added their names to the 2026 NBA Draft pool on Tuesday, including potential lottery selection Hannes Steinbach.
Steinbach, a 6-11 forward from Germany who spent one season at the University of Washington, averaged 18.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals in 30 starts while shooting 57.7% from the floor and 34% from deep. ESPN’s “Best Available” board lists him 15th overall, and DraftExpress projects him inside the top 20.
Arizona State center Jayden Quaintance also entered the draft via social media. The 6-10 sophomore is still viewed as a first-round prospect despite a torn ACL and meniscus that ended his freshman campaign and lingering knee problems that restricted him to four games this past season. Quaintance posted freshman averages of 9.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.1 steals and is ranked No. 20 by ESPN.
Baylor guard Cameron Carr declared as well. The 6-5 junior put up 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists while hitting 38% of his three-point attempts this year. Carr previously appeared in 18 games over two seasons at Tennessee. He is slotted 24th on ESPN’s board and, according to DraftExpress, will not explore the transfer portal.
Arkansas freshman guard Meleek Thomas announced he will test the draft waters but retain his college eligibility. Thomas averaged 15.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals while converting 41.6% from beyond the arc. ESPN rates him 28th overall.
