Milwaukee Bucks guard Kevin Porter Jr. underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Tuesday, the club announced. The procedure will keep him out for the remainder of the season, and the Bucks have not set a timeline for his return.
Porter Jr., 25, has been out of action since March 17, when he posted 25 points and 10 assists against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Injuries limited him to 38 appearances this year, though he produced 17.4 points, 7.4 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game.
This marks Porter Jr.’s second knee operation of the season. After spraining his left ankle in the Oct. 22 season opener, he tore the meniscus in his right knee while rehabbing and missed four weeks following surgery. He also sat out four consecutive games earlier in March because of swelling in the same knee.
The former first-round pick re-signed with Milwaukee last summer on a two-year, $10.52 million contract that includes a $5.39 million player option for 2026-27. Whether he exercises that option or tests free agency could hinge on his recovery progress.
