The Milwaukee Bucks used their official X account to poke fun at NBA insider Shams Charania, months after his report that Giannis Antetokounmpo was open to a trade.
Charania’s story surfaced earlier this summer, sparking league-wide speculation about the two-time MVP’s future. Milwaukee privately insisted the 30.4-point, 11.9-rebound, 6.5-assist star would stay put, and with training camp approaching, Antetokounmpo remains on the roster.
During EuroBasket play on September 4, 2025, the Bucks posted: “Giannis exploring his options with 4 AST in the first 8 minutes vs. Spain,” a tongue-in-cheek reference to Charania’s earlier reporting.
Milwaukee’s front office has attempted to strengthen its case for a long-term commitment from Antetokounmpo by signing veteran center Myles Turner this offseason. Turner is projected to slot in as the team’s No. 2 option alongside the franchise cornerstone.
Charania has maintained that his information was accurate when published, but the Bucks’ recent jab suggests the organization is unlikely to feed him updates anytime soon. While rival clubs could revisit Antetokounmpo’s status closer to the trade deadline, for now, the former Finals MVP remains in Milwaukee—and the Bucks are content to highlight that fact publicly.
