The NBA injury report could soon lighten for several teams. The Suns may regain Dillon Brooks and Mark Williams during their forthcoming road swing, Joel Embiid continues to advance toward a comeback for Philadelphia, and New York expects Landry Shamet’s absence to be short-lived.

Suns

Radio host John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 reported that Phoenix anticipates Dillon Brooks rejoining the lineup early on the trip that begins in Memphis and concludes in Chicago. Center Mark Williams could follow later in the week.

Brooks is roughly four weeks removed from surgery on his fractured left hand, matching the club’s original four-to-six-week projection. Williams, sidelined since March 3 with a stress reaction in his left foot, is headed for restricted free agency this offseason.

76ers

Joel Embiid missed his 13th consecutive contest Monday, yet signs indicate the league’s reigning MVP is moving closer to action. According to Derek Bodner of PHLY Sports, Embiid participated in the morning shootaround, then completed additional individual drills. A more demanding workout is scheduled for Tuesday, after which medical staff will reevaluate the right oblique strain that has kept him out.

Knicks

The Knicks ruled Landry Shamet out for Tuesday’s game because of a tibial plateau contusion in his right knee suffered Friday in Brooklyn. The swingman also sat out Sunday’s win over Washington, but Stefan Bondy of the New York Post reported the injury is not considered serious and Shamet could be back within a few games.

Each team hopes the upcoming medical evaluations confirm the optimistic timelines.
