The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without starting center Jarrett Allen for their upcoming three-game swing after the 27-year-old was diagnosed with tendinitis in his right knee, the team announced Tuesday.
The trip opens Tuesday night in Milwaukee and continues with stops in Boston and Atlanta. Allen has missed the last five contests after suffering the injury during the second half of a March 3 victory over Detroit. He is averaging 15.3 points and 8.5 rebounds in 27.5 minutes this season. Cleveland is 33-18 when he plays and 8-9 when he does not, including a 2-3 mark over the past five games.
Backcourt Injuries
The Cavaliers also provided updates on two reserve guards:
- Craig Porter Jr. underwent an MRI that confirmed a left groin strain sustained Friday in Dallas. The rookie from Wichita State is expected to miss one to three weeks.
- Tyrese Proctor, out for the past five games with a right quad strain, will remain sidelined for the road trip. The 49th pick in last year’s draft continues rehabilitation.
Cleveland enters the trip at 41-27, holding the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference.
