CLEVELAND — Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen exited Tuesday night’s 113-109 home win against the Detroit Pistons after injuring his right knee.

The 6-foot-11 big man came down awkwardly while fighting for a rebound with 8:40 remaining in the third quarter. Allen grimaced upon landing and was ruled doubtful to return before heading to the locker room.

Allen had totaled eight points and four rebounds when the injury occurred. Entering the game, he had appeared in 50 contests this season, averaging 15.4 points and 8.6 rebounds. He was recently nominated for Eastern Conference Player of the Month for February, a stretch he described as the best of his career.

Cleveland was already without All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell (groin) and wing Max Strus (foot). The Cavaliers do not play again until Sunday, when they host the Boston Celtics.

The team has not provided a detailed update on Allen’s status. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
