Lublin, Poland — Luka Doncic registered 26 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds on Sunday, powering Slovenia to an 86-69 victory over Belgium in EuroBasket group play.

The performance marked only the fourth triple-double recorded in the tournament since 1995 and the fifth overall. Doncic, 26, also became the youngest player to eclipse 400 career EuroBasket points since Tony Parker accomplished the feat in 2007.

“This is a normal day at the office for him,” Slovenian forward Edo Muric said. “I’m even more glad that today we showed we can play good defense — and that we won.”

Slovenia entered the contest after losses to Poland and France. Belgium coach Dario Gjergja acknowledged Doncic’s impact, saying, “I’d prefer he score 50 but the others don’t execute, because he’s capable of making everybody better. That’s why he’s a superstar.”

Doncic had poured in a combined 73 points over Slovenia’s first two games. “It’s not about me being perfect,” he said. “We lose as a team, we win as a team.”

Slovenia resumes play Tuesday against Iceland and wraps up the group stage Thursday versus Israel. The top four teams from each six-team group advance to the single-elimination round in Latvia.
