Indiana is giving newly acquired guard Kobe Brown an extended look after landing him and center Ivica Zubac from the Clippers earlier this month. Brown logged only 8.7 minutes per game in Los Angeles, but through five appearances with the Pacers he is averaging 10.2 points and 6.8 rebounds across 26.4 minutes. The 24-year-old delivered a season-best 15 points and seven boards in 19 minutes during Sunday’s loss to Dallas.
“This is a great chance for us to learn as much as we can about him,” head coach Rick Carlisle said. Brown will enter unrestricted free agency in July after the Clippers declined his 2026/27 team option.
Forward Pascal Siakam added 30 points on 12-for-19 shooting against the Mavericks, marking his 11th game with at least 30 this season. Siakam, who is managing a left hamstring issue, said he has no intention of sitting out despite the club’s place in the standings: “Anyone that knows me knows that I want to play.” He also gathered eight rebounds and three assists; Indiana was plus-7 during his 29 minutes.
Tyrese Haliburton, still rehabbing an Achilles tendon tear, has been diagnosed with shingles and is expected to be away for several weeks, ESPN reported. “It’s very painful, but he’ll make a full recovery,” Carlisle noted. The guard developed symptoms while traveling to Washington, D.C., and returned to Indianapolis for treatment.
In the front office, senior vice president of player personnel Ryan Carr is leaving after 25 years to join new Indiana University head coach Darian DeVries as executive director of basketball. Carr has overseen the Pacers’ pre-draft process for more than a decade and previously served as an IU student manager.
Center Ivica Zubac has not yet debuted for Indiana because of an ankle injury. A Forbes analysis highlighted his rim protection and screen-setting as potential boosts once he is cleared.
