The Orlando Magic have promoted guard Alex Morales from the Osceola Magic, signing the 28-year-old to a two-way contract, the club announced Tuesday.

To create roster space, Orlando waived center Orlando Robinson, who had been on a two-way deal since July.

Morales, undrafted out of Wagner in 2022, has spent almost his entire pro career with Orlando’s G League affiliate, logging 168 appearances over four seasons. He also played two short stints for Osos de Manatí in Puerto Rico between NBA campaigns.

This season, the 6-6 guard is averaging career highs of 16.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals across 30 G League games. He is shooting 52.1 percent from the field, 40.3 percent from three and 82.0 percent at the foul line while playing 34.2 minutes per contest.

The new agreement marks the first two-way contract of Morales’s career and spans two seasons. Under current rules, he can be active for up to 16 regular-season games with Orlando. Jamal Cain and Colin Castleton hold the Magic’s other two two-way spots.

Robinson, 25, appeared in four NBA games for Orlando this season. In 10 outings with Osceola, the 6-10 center averaged 17.1 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks. Since entering the league in 2022, he has also seen time with Miami, Sacramento and Toronto.
