PHOENIX — The Suns hit the All-Star break at 32-23, holding the Western Conference’s seventh seed, and owner Mat Ishbia expects more of the same down the stretch. “We’re going to compete at a high level and have a team the fans can be proud of,” Ishbia told the Arizona Republic. “Fifty-five games are not enough.”

Leonard dazzles during All-Star showcase

Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard electrified the crowd Sunday, pouring in 31 points on 11-for-13 shooting — including 6-of-7 from deep — in just 12 minutes against the World Team. “When I come in to play basketball, I’ve got one way,” the 34-year-old said. “I’m going to try to attack, try to get some shots up. I don’t like people just scoring on me.”

Leonard is averaging an NBA-best 30.2 points along with 6.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists since late December. “He can step up to levels at any time,” Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns said. “He’s one of those few players that flips a switch and turns into a different beast.”

Booker aims for one more three-point contest

Suns guard Devin Booker plans to enter next year’s three-point shootout when All-Star weekend lands in Phoenix, though he doubts he will compete again after that. Booker fell 29-27 to Damian Lillard in this year’s final. “This one hurt a little bit. I wanted this one bad,” he said. “It’ll probably be the last time I do it next year if I get the invite.”
