Trade speculation surrounding Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to circulate, with three Eastern and Western Conference teams again mentioned as possible landing spots.
Lakers Seen as an Appealing Destination
During an appearance on The Zach Lowe Show, Howard Beck of The Ringer said some league insiders believe the Los Angeles Lakers are a team Antetokounmpo could find attractive. At present, Los Angeles can trade only one future first-round pick, but that number could grow to three once the offseason begins. Interest from both sides has been noted, yet the Lakers’ limited draft capital remains an obstacle for any near-term discussions.
Philadelphia Link Considered “More Noise Than Substance”
Reports have also tied the Philadelphia 76ers to Antetokounmpo, in part because of the possibility of pairing him with guard Tyrese Maxey. However, Kyle Neubeck of PHLY Sports cited a league source who dismissed talk that Philadelphia would move rookie standout VJ Edgecombe in any deal, including one for Antetokounmpo. Current sentiment around the league suggests the Sixers are unlikely to mount a serious pursuit.
Raptors’ Chances Hinge on Scottie Barnes
Michael Grange of Sportsnet surveyed NBA executives on the possibility of the Toronto Raptors entering the race. The prevailing view is that Milwaukee would not entertain a proposal unless it features forward Scottie Barnes. One executive proposed an alternate package built around significant draft compensation and young players such as Collin Murray-Boyles and Jamal Shead, though Grange characterized that route as highly unlikely. Without Barnes included, Toronto appears to have no straightforward path to negotiations.
For now, Milwaukee has given no indication it intends to explore trade scenarios, yet league-wide interest in Antetokounmpo remains high as franchises evaluate their options ahead of the offseason.
