The Atlanta Hawks announced Monday morning that forward/center Kristaps Porzingis and swingman Zaccharie Risacher will both be re-evaluated in roughly one week as they continue to recover from injuries.

Porzingis, 30, has missed the past five games with left Achilles tendinitis and has appeared in only 17 contests this season. Acquired from Boston over the summer, the 7-foot-3 veteran is averaging 17.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 24.3 minutes while shooting 45.7% from the floor and 36.0% from three-point range. He also sat out a significant stretch earlier in the year because of an illness. Porzingis’ $30.7 million expiring contract has been mentioned in trade discussions as a potential salary-matching piece.

Risacher, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 draft, is dealing with a left knee bone contusion and has likewise been absent for the last five games. The 20-year-old forward is posting 11.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists across 24.6 minutes, shooting 46.2% from the field and 35.8% from beyond the arc. He has already missed eight games this season, surpassing his total absences from his entire rookie year. Atlanta has reportedly resisted including Risacher in trade proposals, even for star-level talent.

The Hawks enter Monday’s home matinee against Milwaukee with a 20-24 record, holding the Eastern Conference’s final play-in spot by 1.5 games. Getting both injured players back remains critical to solidifying their postseason position.
