Los Angeles — The Clippers have ruled Kawhi Leonard out for the last two contests of their current road swing as he returns to Southern California to treat irritation in his left knee, the team said Sunday.

The star forward will sit Monday at Washington and Tuesday at Chicago. According to the club, Leonard will be re-evaluated once the team is back in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Leonard, 33, already missed Friday’s overtime victory in Toronto because of a right ankle sprain and the same left knee contusion that is now causing discomfort. NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that the knee issue is not viewed as serious.

The six-time All-NBA selection sustained the contusion during a Jan. 10 win in Detroit. Earlier this season he was sidelined for 10 games in November with right foot and ankle problems.

Los Angeles is 3-8 without Leonard in 2025-26. With him, the team has surged from a 6-21 mark on Dec. 18 to 18-23, going 12-2 over that stretch to occupy the Western Conference’s No. 10 seed.
