Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams left Saturday night’s 112-104 defeat to the Miami Heat with an apparent right-leg injury and will undergo medical testing on Sunday, head coach Mark Daigneault said.

Williams was officially listed with “right thigh soreness,” but the 24-year-old immediately reached for the back of his leg—near the hamstring—after going down midway through the second quarter. He exited under his own power yet was visibly hunched over and clutching the area as he made his way to the locker room.

The injury comes in Williams’ 24th appearance of the season. The fourth-year wing is averaging 16.8 points, 5.6 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals while shooting 47.0 percent from the field, 30.0 percent from three and 83.3 percent at the foul line. He missed Oklahoma City’s first 19 games after undergoing two surgeries on his right wrist during the offseason.

Williams did not address reporters postgame, but he posted a cryptic Instagram image—a child attempting to flush himself down a toilet—that hinted at concern about the injury’s severity.

Daigneault did not speculate on a timeline, but if Williams is sidelined, center Chet Holmgren is expected to shoulder a larger offensive load, according to The Oklahoman.

Williams earned his first All-Star nod last season, captured All-NBA Third Team and All-Defensive Second Team honors, and played a pivotal role in the Thunder’s 2025 NBA championship run.
