The Orlando Magic have contacted multiple NBA clubs to determine interest in veteran point guard Tyus Jones, league sources told Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.

Orlando is reportedly seeking a package built around second-round draft picks. Moving Jones would also trim salary and place the team below the luxury-tax threshold. The Magic are currently about $5.6 million over the tax line.

Jones, 29, signed a one-year, $7 million contract with Orlando last summer but has struggled to carve out a role. Through 40 games (eight starts), he is averaging 3.2 points and 2.4 assists in 16.5 minutes while shooting 35.3 percent from the field and 29.5 percent from three-point range.

Reducing payroll before the trade deadline would give the Magic additional flexibility as they plan for a potential rookie-max extension for Paolo Banchero in 2026-27 and aim to avoid future repeater-tax penalties.
